ASAP District 5 Conference

Dear ASAP Member,

Hello!  My name is Jen Vaseleck, and I am the 2008 ASAP District 5 Conference Director.  This year’s conference is being hosted by Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.  The conference runs from Friday, February 15th through Sunday, February 17th.

Our vision this year is to provide all attending the conference with fun and unique sessions that are educational no matter what school you come from.  We are going to need your help to make sure that we have awesome sessions that can benefit everyone and allow our organizations to “Turn Up The
Heat” in the upcoming years!

I invite your organization to present during one or more of our sessions.  No matter what type of organization you are, your experiences at your schools can help everyone better their organizations.

Each session is allotted a 45 minute slot.  When creating your presentation, please keep in mind the time trying to use up the entire duration and allow time for questions.  Our suggestion is a 30 minute presentation with 15 minutes left for questions.

Remember to make your presentations educational, but also keep them interesting and interactive.  Make sure you discuss ways that other organizations can apply or relate the presented ideas to their own organizations.  Keep in mind differences in school size, organization size, and membership types.

Also, on your opening slides, please have some general information:

  1. The name of your organization
  2. The name of your institution
  3. The number of members in your organization
  4. The type of membership in your organization (open/closed membership, dues/non-dues paying)
  5. Your school’s undergraduate enrollment size

The deadline to turn in the completed session form has been extended to Wednesday, January 30!  Please send your completed PowerPoint presentation no later than Friday, February 1st.

I look forward to hearing from you.  In the meantime, feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.  Thank you for your dedication to making this a unique learning and networking experience.

Sincerely,

Jen Vaseleck
